The shape of the enzyme determines which reaction it can catalyze.

Explanation:

The enzymes are highly specific in nature. They catalyze the biological reactions by lowering their activation energy and thus accelerating the chemical reaction taking place.

The shape of enzymes plays a key role in its function as it has specific substrate binding sites, with which it would form an enzyme-substrate complex. Change in the shape will also alter the active sites and consequently, enzyme is dysfunctional.

Why do you pass out if you lock your knees?
Inga [223]
It's caused by blood pooling in the legs, so there's insufficient return to the heart and brain. Normally, moving one's legs helps to pump blood back to the heart through muscle contraction. Locking the knees makes standing still easier, but reduces use of the leg muscles. In some people, this pooling may lead to hypoperfusion of the brain and fainting, which is essentially the body's way of putting the brain and the legs and the heart at the same level.
