<h2><u>Full Question:</u></h2>

The diagram shows molecules in a fluid. Explain the sequence of events that happens when this fluid cools down. Be sure to focus on what happens to the molecules and to the fluid in general. Five events should be included in your answer.  The kinetic energy of the molecules decreases

The molecules slow down

The molecules move closer together

The density of the fluid increases

The fluid sinks

<h2><u>Answer: </u></h2>

When the fluid cools, the kinetic energy of the molecules decreases. This causes the energy of the molecules decreases. This causes the molecules to slow down and move closer together. Sines the molecules are closer together, the density of the fluid increases and the fluid sinks.

<h3><u>Explanation</u></h3>

This is a simple question based on the state of matter. Here the kinetic theory of matter is taken into account. The kinetic theory of matter says that the state of matter is highly affected by the kinetic energy of the molecules. And the kinetic energy is dependent on the temperature. Cooler temperature has lower kinetic energy and vice versa. So, as the fluids cool, the kinetic energy of the molecules decreases, which let's them come closer because of less number of collisions. Thus, the number of molecules per unit volume increase, which is the density of the substance. As the density increase, the fluid starts sinking owing to heavier weight. :

If a molecule has an empirical formula of C2H2O and a molecular mass of 84.0 g/mol, what is the molecular formula?
lord [1]

Answer:

=C₄H₄O₂

Explanation:

Given the empirical formula of a molecule, the he the quotient of the molecular mas and and the empirical mass=constant.

84.0 g/mol/mass of(C₂H₂O)=constant

=84/(12×2+1×2×16)

=84/42

=2

Therefore, the molecular formula is (C₂H₂O)₂=C₄H₄O₂
