The New Deal consisted of president Franklin D. Roosevelt's programs that would help America escape the Great Depression. These programs saw a huge increase in federal government's power of the economy and the life of every day citizens. New work programs like the Works Progress Administration and Civilian Conservation Corps were formed to employ millions of previously unemployed American citizens. This shifted the way in which the people saw the government, as they now felt that the government had an imperative role in helping citizens in times of economic crisis.
