The Baptistery doors(in bronze) competition in 1401 in Florence, is historically important because Lorenzo Ghiberti's  entry, "The Sacrifice of Isaac," won the commission sculpting the pair of gilded bronze doors, which later fixed in the east entrance.  It also shows the high mature Renaissance art with pose figures in classical statuary form.
