What best describes tectonic force
Alborosie
Tectonic Forces

Rocks are under stress when they are subjected to a force at depth. When the rocks are exposed at the surface after uplift and erosion, the effects of the stress can be studied. Stressed rocks show varying degrees of strain—the change in the volume and/or shape of the rock because of that stress. For example, a volcanic agglomerate may be compacted and its pyroclastic fragments stretched (strained) in response to a tectonic stress, such as compression.

Why might Allied leaders in North Africa have kept the paths of their offenses close to the northern tip of Africa?
Veronika [31]

It could be because the area was of water that both sides needed to supply their troops.  Another reason was when the Allies launched Operation Torch, it would enable them to get hold of the Mediterranean so their ships could have a place to dock.  It also would persuade the French to help the Allies.
