According to the cell theory, living things are composed of cells. Living things are capable of reproduction and two ducks can reproduce their own kind or their offspring starting from a single which was formed through the union of their reproductive cells. Explain the difference between sexual reproduction and asexual reproduction. Explain either an advantage or disadvantage for
ira [324]

In asexual reproduction, reproductive organs aren't used but they're used.

advantage of sexual- A lot of genetic variation. since they have DNA of two parents. they can survive more and adapt more.

disadvantage of asexual- diversity is limited. Since the organism only gets the DNA of one parent, they wouldn't be able to really survive if something happened. They would easily be extinct.

Sorry I can't really cone up with better words but I hope you get the idea. it all comes down to natural selection really if you've learned about it. Hope it helped!!!

liraira [26]

Meiosis only occurs in reproductive cells, as the goal is to create haploid gametes that will be used in fertilization. Meiosis is important to, but not the same as, sexual reproduction.
