The Electoral College is responsible for electing the President and Vice President of the United States.

The US is the largest democracy on the planet, but the system of choice of presidential plaque is done indirectly. Citizens vote to elect the Electoral College. This body is made up of a total of 538 delegates from all states, including Washington DC. The number of delegates corresponding to each State is calculated in proportion to its population and the number of parliamentarians representing them.

After citizens vote for their presidential candidate, on election day, votes are counted at the state level. The candidate who obtains the majority of the popular votes in a state stays with all the delegates assigned to that territory. Excesses: States of Maine and Nebraska, where delegates are proportionately divided.

6. Which answer choice correctly orders the events of World War II given below?
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

The correct answer is: A, C, D, B

1. Pearl Harbor attack

2. U.S. enters the war

3. Internment of Japanese Americans

4. Japan surrenders

Explanation:

The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack by the Japanese Navy at the US Navy Base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941. The attack led to US military involvement in the course of World War II on the side of the Allies. In the 1930s, Japan began to invade China without the approval of the United States and European colonial powers; when Japanese troops occupied French Indochina, America decided to impose a fuel embargo on the Japanese. Therefore, the war was inevitable, because the Japanese did not want to accept American demands to leave China.

The Pearl Harbor attack was realized without any formal declaration of war, which caused great anger among the American public. After the attack, the U.S. decided to involve in the course of World War II on December 8, 1941.

After entering World War II, U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt decided to relocate and incarcerate the Japanese population in the United States. More than 125,000 Japanese citizens who were living in the United States were taken to concentration camps in the western part of the country on February 19, 1942. This event is also known as the Internment of Japanese Americans.

The surrender of Japan in August 1945 marked the end of World War II. After Manchuria was attacked by Soviet troops and after the U.S. bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japanese leadership decided to accept the Allied terms for ending the war.

What affect did nationalism have on European affairs?
kykrilka [37]
Nationalism affected Europe during the 19th century by making Europeans feel superior to other countries and governments, which led to the unification of both Germany and Italy, with Russia moving towards modernization and with France moving towards liberalism. This sense of superiority led to a stronger sense of unity between the peoples of each country and to a desire for increased military power which then,in turn, led to an alliance system between the European nations.
