Write a static method that implements a recursive formula for factorials. Place this method in a test program that allows the us
matrenka [14]

Answer:

Written in Java

import java.util.*;

public class Main {

  public static int fact(int n) {

     if (n == 1)

        return n;

     else

        return n * fact(n - 1);

  }

  public static void main(String[] args) {

     int num;

     Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);

     char tryagain = 'y';

     while(tryagain == 'y'){

     System.out.print("Number: ");

     num = input.nextInt();

     System.out.println(num+"! = "+ fact(num));

     System.out.print("Try another input? y/n : ");

     tryagain = input.next().charAt(0);

}

  }

}

Explanation:

The static method is defines here

  public static int fact(int n) {

This checks if n is 1. If yes, it returns 1

     if (n == 1)

        return n;

If otherwise, it returns the factorial of n, recursively

     else

        return n * fact(n - 1);

  }

The main method starts here. Where the user can continue executing different values of n. The program keep prompting user to try again for another number until user signals for stoppage

  public static void main(String[] args) {

This declares num as integer

     int num;

     Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);

This initializes tryagain as y

     char tryagain = 'y';

This checks if user wants to check the factorial of a number

     while(tryagain == 'y'){

This prompts user for input

     System.out.print("Number: ");

This gets user input

     num = input.nextInt();

This passes user input to the function and also prints the result

     System.out.println(num+"! = "+ fact(num));

This prompts user to try again for another value

     System.out.print("Try another input? y/n : ");

This gets user response

     tryagain = input.next().charAt(0);

}

Write a python program to read four numbers (representing the four octets of an IP) and print the next five IP addresses. Be sur
sdas [7]

Answer:

first_octet = int(input("Enter the first octet: "))

second_octet = int(input("Enter the second octet: "))

third_octet = int(input("Enter the third octet: "))

forth_octet = int(input("Enter the forth octet: "))

octet_start = forth_octet + 1

octet_end = forth_octet + 6

if (1 <= first_octet <= 255) and (0 <= second_octet <= 255) and (0 <= third_octet <= 255) and (0 <= forth_octet <= 255):

   for ip in range(octet_start, octet_end):

       forth_octet = forth_octet + 1

       if forth_octet > 255:

           forth_octet = (forth_octet % 255) - 1

           third_octet = third_octet + 1

           if third_octet > 255:

               third_octet = (third_octet % 255) - 1

               second_octet = second_octet + 1

               if second_octet > 255:

                   second_octet = (second_octet % 255) - 1

                   first_octet = first_octet + 1

                   if first_octet > 255:

                       print("No more available IP!")

                       break

       print(str(first_octet) + "." + str(second_octet) + "." + str(third_octet) + "." + str(forth_octet))

else:

   print("Invalid input!")

Explanation:

- Ask the user for the octets

- Initialize the start and end points of the loop, since we will be printing next 5 IP range is set accordingly

- Check if the octets meet the restrictions

- Inside the loop, increase the forth octet by 1 on each iteration

- Check if octets reach the limit - 255, if they are greater than 255, calculate the mod and subtract 1. Then increase the previous octet by 1.

For example, if the input is: 1. 1. 20. 255, next ones will be:

1. 1. 21. 0

1. 1. 21. 1

1. 1. 21. 2

1. 1. 21. 3

1. 1. 21. 4

There is an exception for the first octet, if it reaches 255 and others also reach 255, this means there are no IP available.

- Print the result

Use appropriate method calls from the List ADT to create the following list:
Mumz [18]

Answer:

The complete method is as follows:

public List buildList(List L) {

 L.insert(30);

 L.insert(23);

 L.insert(19);

 L.insert(4);

   return L; }

Explanation:

To complete the method, we make use of the insert() function.

This inserts elements of the list into list L. However, we have to start from the last element (i.e. in descending order)

So, the explanation is as follows:

 L.insert(30); --- This inserts the last element

Continue inserting in descending order

<em>  L.insert(23);  </em>

<em>  L.insert(19); </em>

Until the first list element is inserted

 L.insert(4);

This returns the filled list L

   return L;
