3(1 - 3x) = 2(- 4x + 7)

multiply the first bracket by 3

(3)(1)=3x

(3)(-3x)=9x

multiply the second bracket by 2

(2)(-4x)=8x

(2)(7)=14

3-9x=-8x+14

move -8x to the other side

sign changes from -8x to +8x

3-9x+8x=-9x+8x+14

3-x=14

move 3 to the other side

3-3-x=14-3

-x=11

multiply both sides by -1 to get +x

(-1)(-x)=x

(-1)(11)=-11

Answer:

x=-11

Answer:

x=-11

Step-by-step explanation:

3(1-3x)=2(-4x+7)

1) Distribute 3 to 1 and -3x:

3-9x=2(-4x+7)

2) Distribute 2 to -4x and 7:

3-9x=-8x+14

3) Subtract 3 from both sides::

-9x=-8x+11

4) Add 8x to both sides:

-1x=11

5) Divide both sides by -1:

x=-11

Footnotes:

-The Distributive property says a(b+c)=ab+ac

-When you have a negative variable, there is an implied (-1) before the variable :)

30 points and BRAINLIEST!
Ghella [55]

Answer:

(x − 4)² + (y − 3)² = 25

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a circle is:

(x − h)² + (y − k)² = r²

Given three points on the circle, we can write three equations:

(1 − h)² + (7 − k)² = r²

(8 − h)² + (6 − k)² = r²

(7 − h)² + (-1 − k)² = r²

Expanding:

1 − 2h + h² + 49 − 14k + k² = r²

64 − 16h + h² + 36 − 12k + k² = r²

49 − 14h + h² + 1 + 2k + k² = r²

Simplifying:

50 − 2h + h² − 14k + k² = r²

100 − 16h + h² − 12k + k² = r²

50 − 14h + h² + 2k + k² = r²

Subtracting the first equation from the second and third equations:

50 − 14h + 2k = 0

-12h + 16k = 0

Solving the system of equations, first reduce:

25 − 7h + k = 0

-3h + 4k = 0

Solve with substitution or elimination. Using substitution, solve for k in the first equation and substitute into the second.

k = 7h − 25

-3h + 4(7h − 25) = 0

-3h + 28h − 100 = 0

25h = 100

h = 4

k = 7h −25

k = 7(4) − 25

k = 3

Now plug these into any of the original three equations to find r.

(1 − h)² + (7 − k)² = r²

(1 − 4)² + (7 − 3)² = r²

9 + 16 = r²

25 = r²

The equation of the circle is:

(x − 4)² + (y − 3)² = 25

multiply secn equation by -1
-3x-2y=-6

add to other equation
-3x-2y=-6
4x+2y=10 +
1x+0y=4

x=4
sub back to solve for y

3x+2y=6
3(4)+2y=6
12+2y=6
minus 12 both sides
2y=-6
divide 2
y=-3

Dentify the x-intercept and y-intercept of the equation below. 9x - 7y=21
trasher [3.6K]
X int can be found by subbing in 0 for y and solving for x
9x - 7y = 21
9x - 7(0) = 21
9x = 21
x = 21/9 which reduces to 7/3...so the x int is 7/3 or (7/3,0) <==

to find the y int, sub in 0 for x and solve for y
9x - 7y = 21
9(0) - 7y = 21
-7y = 21
y = -21/7
y = -3....so the y int is -3 or (0,-3) <==
