Answer:

A.can be (but are not always); can dictate both negatives and positives (what not to do as well as what to do

Explanation:

The standards against which people compare themselves can be (but are not always) supplied by culture and can dictate both negative and positive (what not to do as well as what to do)

Therefore this means that people who compare themselves with others are not always determined by the person culture and in some case culture can be the determinant why people compare themselves with others and can often dictate both negative and positive action or behaviour about what the person can do and what he cannot do when comparing him/her self with other.

Although some people may compare themselves with others due to low self esteem because they dont believe in themselves .

Comparison may happen in term of standard meaning when a person standard is low the person may begin to compare themselves with the people of high standard and can happen due to the person culture or the way he/she was brought up and it may not .

Comparison may lead a person to avoid doing some certain things or do some certain thing.

On this basis we make comparisons amongst t ourselves such as we may say that a person isnt married at a certain age or doesn't wear a certain clothe. this is influenced by our culture but may not always be influenced by it.
