Area of a triangle is defined by the following:  A = \frac{1}{2}bh  where b = base of the triangle and h = height of the triangle.

In this case b = 8cm and h = 9cm
A = \frac{1}{2}( 8cm)(9cm) = 36 cm^{2}

the straight line L has the equation 4y=5x+3. Point A has the coordinates (3,-2) Find the equation of the line straight line tha
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

y = - \frac{4}{5} x + \frac{2}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

Rearrange 4y = 5x + 3 into this form by dividing the 3 terms by 4

y = \frac{5}{4} x + \frac{3}{4} ← in slope- intercept form

with slope m = \frac{5}{4}

Given a line with slope m then the slope of a line perpendicular to it is

m_{perpendicular} = - \frac{1}{m} = - \frac{1}{\frac{5}{4} } = - \frac{4}{5} , thus

y = - \frac{4}{5} x + c ← is the partial equation

To find c substitute (3, - 2) into the partial equation

- 2 = - \frac{12}{5} + c ⇒ c = - 2 + \frac{12}{5} = \frac{2}{5}

y = - \frac{4}{5} x + \frac{2}{5} ← equation of perpendicular line

Quick help: Explain how to solve the following system of equations. What is the solution to the system?
romanna [79]
-3x - 4y - 2z = 0
x + 3y + 2z = 1

-2x - y = 1

-4x - 4y - 2z = 10
3x + 4y +2z= 0

-x = 10. x = -10

-2(-10) - y = 1
20 - y = 1
-y = -19
y = 19

-10 + 3(19) + 2z = 1
-10 + 57 + 2z = 1
47 + 2z = 1
2z = -46
z= -23

check: 2(-10)+2(19)-23=-5
-20+38-23=-5
-43+38=-5
-5=-5
