The answer would be the first choice, A. Take a break from the project when you need it.
Putting the project off until the last minute only causes stress from the moment the project is assigned until the project is due.
Working on the project well into the night would only make the student lose sleep, and end up being exhausted the next day.
Devoting too much time to work on the project will only interfere with progress on other homework/project assignments. It'll only cause stress.
Taking a break from time to time will prevent from burnout (when you work so much to the point that you just cannot even work anymore, where you're just like "nope") and helps to let the mind and person rest. It's very important to take short breaks from time to time, it actually helps with productivity.
