The anthem was said to have been culled from a lyrics written in 1814 by an amateur poet called Francis Scott Key. His poem was titled 'Defense of Fort M' Henry. The national athem is considered a national symbol both for the citizens and the country as a whole. All countries have a national athem which is meant to be an adopted cultural hymn, song or poem which stands as a symbolizes the hallmark of the nation.
