Theodore Roosevelt won popularity among the community because he took several actions to support the economy of the lower classes.
He thought that a strong federal power could be able of regulating the economic activity of the country. He was against big private companies (monopolies) and created economic policies against them. Roosevelt accused monopolies of obtaining immense benefits for certain people but no benefit for the majority of the population. Examples of this, are acting against capitalists of the oil and food industry.
Finally, he advocated in favor of the miners so they could get labor journeys of 8 hours and fair wages.
