Considering High School level question, answer can be written as:

A system of 2 linear equations is [two] dimensional. It is a graph of [two] lines. The solutions can be [unique] solution if the graph intersects. [No] solution if the lines are parallel - meaning they have the same slope, or [Infinitely many] solutions if they are the same line.

Explanation:

when two lines are drawn on a two-dimensional plane then there are only three possible cases:

Case1: lines will intersect

In that case you will get a unique solution at the intersection point.

Case2: lines are parallel but don't touch each other

In that case there will be no point which lies on both lines so No solution.

Case3: lines are overlapping.

In that case all the points lies on both lines so infinitely many solutions.

Find the next 2 terms in the Geometric sequence 20,30,45 ...
DochEvi [55]

Answers:

The next two terms are 67.5 and 101.25 in that order.

===========================================

Explanation:

Divide the second term over the first to get 30/20 = 1.5

Divide the third term over the second term to get 45/30 = 1.5

The common ratio is 1.5, which means we multiply 1.5 by each term to get the next term

-------

fourth term = 1.5*(third term) = 1.5*45 = 67.5

fifth term = 1.5*(fourth term) = 1.5*67.5 = 101.25

-------

As a shortcut you can plug n = 4 and n = 5 into the function t(n) = 20*(1.5)^(n-1) to get the fourth and fifth terms respectively.

Why is division not commutative
Kamila [148]
Division CANNOT be commutative, here is why

lets say the problem is 24÷4

it is obviously  6

but when you flip 24÷4, you get 4÷24

and... 4÷24 is 0.16666666

6 and 0.1666 is totally different :p

How can you decompose 6/4
Rzqust [24]
If you mean how to reduce 6/4 then all you have to do is divide 6 by 4 to get a mixed number rather then an improper fraction. Then you reduce the fraction further until its impossible

6/4 = 1 2/4 = 1 1/2

Answer: 1 1/2
