e tunes from the chimneys, it was air And playing, lovely and watery And fire green as grass. What does the speaker mean when he says, “All the sun long it was running”? He was exhausted by the end of the summer. The summer season made the sunny days longer. He worked all day and only got to explore the farm at night. Answer:

The line “All the sun long it was running” meant that all summer long, the sun was shining bright in the sky. The weather was so pleasant that it allowed the poet to play outdoors to his heart's content.

He played during the day out in the open and explored the farm during the night. It was such an amazing and full of excitement that by the end of the summer, he felt tired and exhausted at the same time.
