They are two equation you can't add them together or factories them together .
You should do it one By one ,

• For 2x+3y=20
Move 3y behind so that you can form
2x=20-3y

• For -2x+y=4
Move -2x behind as you have already figure it above , so it should be
Y=4+2x

Than you eliminate it into your questions :)

Hope this helps !!

A 34-ft. ladder resting against the wall of a building forms a right triangle with the wall and ground. The bottom of the ladder
BigorU [14]

The ladder resting against the house forms a triangle similar to the one in the image below

To answer this question you must use Pythagorean theorem

a^{2} +b^{2}=c^{2}

a and b are the legs (the sides that form a perpendicular/right angle)

c is the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle)

In this case...

a = x

b = 8

c =  34

^^^Plug these numbers into the theorem

x^{2} +8^{2} =34^{2}

solve for x

x^{2} + 64 = 1156

Subtract 64 to both sides

x^{2} = 1092

Take the square root of both sides

x = √1092

This can be simplified to:

2√273

or

x ≈ 33.045...

The ladder reached roughly 33.05 ft up the wall of the building

Hope this helped!

Given the sequence tn defined recursively below, find t4.
Alina [70]

Answer:

t_4 = 20

Step-by-step explanation:

The base case in the recursive function are:

t_1 = 1

t_2 = 2

The recursive case is equal to:

t_n = 2t_{n-1} + 3t_{n-2}

So replace t_n for t_4:

t_4 = 2t_{3} + 3t_{2}

In the new expression t_2 is a base case so you don't have to worry for that part, but t_3 is still the recursive case so evaluate again in t_n

t_3 = 2t_{2} + 3t_{1}

t_2 and t_1\\ are define as base cases so you replace for it's numbers:

t_3 = 2(2) + 3(1) = 7

Now return to t_4 and replace for the new values:

t_4 = 2(7) + 3(2) = 14 + 6 = 20

So the final answer is 20

The graph below shows interest charges accrued on 4 different credit cards. Based on the graph, which credit card appears to hav
dezoksy [38]

Answer:

The correct option is D.card 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided graph.

The introductory APR is a discounted interest rate which credit card companies frequently give new customers after opening an account for a fixed number of months. Most credit cards on payments, balance transfers or both offer discounted APRs.

The graph of card 4 is showing that the interest rate in Jan to Apr was lower, after Apr the interest rate increase with different slope.

Therefore, the correct option is D.card 4

HELLP PLSS<br><br><br>(-2 and 1/9) - (-4 and 1/3) = x<br><br><br>Find the value of x
dedylja [7]

Answer:

x = 20/9

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to write out all of the mixed fractions into improper fraction form. So -2 and 1/9 becomes -19/9 and -4 and 1/3 becomes -13/3. Then we get (-19/9) - (-13/3). The two minus signs together means a positive/plus sign, so we get -19/9 + 13/3. In order to add, we want the denominator to be the same. A common denominator could be 9, so -19/9 + 13(3)/3(3) = -19/9 + 39/9 = 20/9, which is our final answer
