How successful was harding in fulfilling his campaign pledge of returning the country to normalcy?

<span>In the sense of getting the country back into profitable big business, Harding was successful in a "return to normalcy." That said, his presidency was marked by scandal and corruption and he died halfway through his term, so it's tough to consider him a successful president. </span>

Prior to the Seven Year's War (French Indian War) the Native American's largest tribe, the Mingoes, were allied with Great Britain. However, many Indians in the Upper Ohio Valley did not acknowledge british authority. Even though many of these Indians were fearful and hold grudges of the French because of previous wars, they believed that an alliance with the french was the lesser of two evils. Consequently, they started to supply French forces with men and intelligence against Great Britain.

The Supreme court decisions were important because they decided what would happen to people and their rights. For example, the supreme court first decided that separate but equal was a good doctrine, but later they decided it was unconstitutional. The addresses could affect public opinion to support something that the congress didn't want, and the supreme court would act on behalf of the people.</span>
