There are several events that take place in the Sun´s different layers, all caused by the gases, and material, that make a part of it, and which are in constant interaction. However, there are two in particular that directly affect human communications, as they tend to knock out satellites and communication devices because their strong ionic charge will block the spread of waves over the Earth´s surface. These two events are solar flares, which are literally the release of gases, ions, and other materials into space, and which hit the Earth´s atmosphere causing several events on our own planet. The second is solar prominences, which are clouds of gases from the chromosphere of the Sun, that erupt from sunspots and travel through space. They too may sometimes affect our communications´ devices.
