A reverse fault is one in which compression force squeezes the rock crust into small space due to which the hanging wall will push up to a higher level as compared to a footwall. Here in this image none of the block is pulled away or forced towards the other. However, the rock has broken due to the application of compressive force which will now tend to create a reverse fault
