Explanation:

The mid-oceanic ridges are formed by the process of plate tectonics. Mid oceanic ridges are series of linear mountain ranges along divergent margins on the ocean floor.

  • When two tectonic plates diverges, or moves apart, molten materials from the asthenosphere rises to the surface.
  • The surface is the ocean floor. ]
  • The new magmatic body is predominantly basaltic magma.
  • On the ocean floor, older part of the oceanic plate moves backward away from the margin.
  • The new ones crystallize and sets at the edge of the margin.
  • This then forms the mid oceanic ridge.
  • As the plate keeps diverging, more crustal materials are deposited and formed here.

Why do cells need to replicate their DNA?
ch4aika [34]

Answer:

Replication is an essential process because, whenever a cell divides, the two new daughter cells must contain the same genetic information, or DNA, as the parent cell. ... Once the DNA in a cell is replicated, the cell can divide into two cells, each of which has an identical copy of the original DNA.

Explanation:

Cells must replicate their DNA before they can divide. This ensures that each daughter cell gets a copy of the genome, and therefore, successful inheritance of genetic traits. DNA replication is an essential process and the basic mechanism is conserved in all organisms.
