So if A=LW
and A=16m^2
and L=8m
A=LW
16m^2=8m(W)
divide both sides by 8m
2m=W

or you could convert the equation A=LW to A/L=W to solve for W
so A/L=W  or (16m^2)/8m=W
cancel out one 'm'  (16m)/8=W
simplify the fraction 2m/1=W
2m=W

A=LW \\A=16m^2 \\\\ 16m^2=8m*W \\\\ W=16m^2:8m \\\\ \boxed{W=2m}

a coin is tossed , then a number 1-10 is chosen at random.what is the probability of getting heads then a number less than 4?
pogonyaev
Probability of sequences can be calculated by multiplying the chance of the first event by the chance of the second, and so on.

The probability of tossing a coin and getting heads is 50%, or 0.5, and the probability of selecting a number less than four from 1-10 is 40%, or 0.4.

The overall probability can then be expressed as:

0.5 x 0.4 = 0.2 or 20%

There is a twenty percent chance that a heads would be tossed and a number less than four selected.

THE SUM 10 INFINITY OF A GEOMETRIC SERIES IS 100. FIND THE TERM IF THE COMMON FIRST RATIO IS - 1/2
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

a = 150

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Sum to infinity of a geometric series</u>

S_{\infty}=\dfrac{a}{1-r}\:\textsf{ for }|r| < 1

where:

  • a is the first term
  • r is the common ratio

Given:

  • S_{\infty}=100
  • r=-\dfrac{1}{2}

Substitute the given values into the formula and solve for a:

\begin{aligned}S_{\infty} & =\dfrac{a}{1-r}\\\\\implies 100 & =\dfrac{a}{1-\left(-\frac{1}{2}\right)}\\\\ 100 & =\dfrac{a}{1+\frac{1}{2}}\\\\100 & = \dfrac{a}{\frac{3}{2}}\\\\a & = \dfrac{3}{2} \cdot 100\\\\a & = 150\end{aligned}

Use the table. Make a scatter plot relating the distance of various cities from the metro area to the population of the cities.
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

Option (A)

Step-by-step explanation:

From the table attached,

Independent variable 'x' is will be represented by the distance from Metro area.

Similarly, dependent variable 'y' will be on y-axis.

Scatter plot relating the distances of various cities from the metro area (x) to the population of the cities (y) will be represented by the ordered pair as (x, y).

Set of ordered pairs to be plotted,

[(1, 300), (5, 275), (10, 208), (15, 135), (20, 108)]

Therefore, graph given in Option (A) will be the answer.
