Use the given diagram to help answer the question. 2 right triangles share a side. Each triangle has a side length of 3 feet and

hypotenuse of 5 feet. Sam found a tent in his garage, and he needs to find the center height. The sides are both 5 feet long, and the bottom is 6 feet wide. What is the center height of Sam’s tent, to the nearest tenth? 3 feet 4 feet 5.5 feet 7.8 feet

The lcm of 165xy and 77x 3 y is _____. 1,155x 3y 11xy 12,705x 4y 2 105x 3y
trapecia [35]
The least common multiple (LCM) can be determined by factoring out the terms first,
                             165xy = (3)(11)(5)(x)(y)
                              77x³y = (7)(11)(x)(x)(x)(y)
Copy the factors writing off the repeated factors only once,
                        LCM = (3)(11)(5)(x)(y)(7)(x)(x)= 1155x³y
The answer is 1155x³y (first choice)

In ΔOPQ, the measure of ∠Q=90°, the measure of ∠O=26°, and QO = 4.9 feet. Find the length of PQ to the nearest tenth of a foot.
Step2247 [10]

Given:

In ΔOPQ, m∠Q=90°, m∠O=26°, and QO = 4.9 feet.

To find:

The measure of side PQ.

Solution:

In ΔOPQ,

m\angle O+m\angle P+m\angle Q=180^\circ        [Angle sum property]

26^\circ+m\angle P+90^\circ=180^\circ

m\angle P+116^\circ=180^\circ

m\angle P=180^\circ -116^\circ

m\angle P=64^\circ

According to Law of Sines, we get

\dfrac{a}{\sin A}=\dfrac{b}{\sin B}=\dfrac{c}{\sin C}

Using the Law of Sines, we get

\dfrac{p}{\sin P}=\dfrac{o}{\sin O}

\dfrac{QO}{\sin P}=\dfrac{PQ}{\sin O}

Substituting the given values, we get

\dfrac{4.9}{\sin (64^\circ)}=\dfrac{PQ}{\sin (26^\circ)}

\dfrac{4.9}{0.89879}=\dfrac{PQ}{0.43837}

\dfrac{4.9}{0.89879}\times 0.43837=PQ

2.38989=PQ

Approximate the value to the nearest tenth of a foot.

PQ\approx 2.4

Therefore, the length of PQ is 2.4 ft.

In a proportional relationship why must the graph of the line always go through the origin (0,0)? explain?
lbvjy [14]

Answer:

We know that, two quantities are proportional when they vary directly with each other.

i.e. quantities x and y are proportional when they have the relation y = kx, where k is any constant called constant of proportionality.

Since, the quantities are in relation y = kx.

So, for x = 0 we get that the value of y = 0.

As, the point ( 0,0 ) satisfies this relation i.e. it is a solution of y =  kx.

Hence, in proportional relationship, the graph will pass through ( 0,0 ).
