Answer:

(2, 3 )

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the 2 equations

2x - 3y = - 5 → (1)

5x + 4y = 22 → (2) [ rearranged equation ]

Multiplying (1) by 4 and (2) by 3 and adding will eliminate the term in y

8x - 12y = - 20 → (3)

15x + 12y = 66 → (4)

Add (3) and (4) term by term to eliminate y, that is

23x = 46 ( divide both sides by 23 )

x = 2

Substitute x = 2 in either of the 2 equations and evaluate for y

Substituting into (2)

5)2) + 4y = 22

10 + 4y = 22 ( subtract 10 from both sides )

4y = 12 ( divide both sides by 4 )

y = 3

Solution is (2, 3 )

If SA=1/2lp+B, find p

What is the formula for finding p?
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
You must get p by itself, so first subtract B from both sides: SA-B=1/2lp. Then multiply both sides by 2, which cancels out the 1/2: 2SA=lp. Then divide both sides by l: (2SA)/l=p.

Tom and jerry both earn the same monthly salary. each month: tom saves 35% of his salary. jerry spends of his salary and saves t
Yanka [14]

The person that saves the most money every month is given as Jerry

How to solve for the savings

We have to solve for 35 percent of 5 dollars

= 0.35 * 45

= 1.75

This is the amount that Tom saves

The question tells us that Jerry spends 2/5 of his, hence he would save 2/5

then we have 2/5 * 5

= 2

Therefore we have that Jerry is the one that saves the most money because he saves 2 dollars.

Complete question

Tom and Jerry both earn the same monthly salary.

Each month

Tom saves 35% of his salary.

Jerry spends 3/5

of his salary and saves the rest of his salary.

Work out who saves the most money each month.

You must show your working.
