Answer:

The correct answer is B. When the body converts food into energy this process is known as metabolism.

Explanation:

Metabolism is a set of chemical reactions that occur in living cells. These processes are the basis of all life, and are absolutely essential for cells to grow and reproduce, maintaining anabolism (build-up) and catabolism (degradation). One striking feature of the metabolism is the similarities between basic metabolic pathways and basic components between very different species.

Metabolism can also characterize the chemical reactions that occur in living organisms, including the digestion and transport of substances inside and between different cells. Metabolism is normally divided into two categories, catabolism and anabolism. Catabolism breaks down organic matter to induce cellular energy. Anabolism uses energy to build components into cells, such as protein and nucleic acids. The chemical reactions in metabolism are organized in metabolic pathways, where a chemical is converted through a series of steps to other chemicals by enzyme activity. Enzymes are very important for metabolism because they allow organisms to drive desirable reactions that require energy, and which cannot arise by themselves, by coupling these reactions to spontaneous reactions that release energy. When the enzyme is a catalyst, these reactions can proceed quickly and efficiently. The speed of metabolism, metabolic speed, affects how much food an organism needs.

Help. (real tips please) How do you swim fast, and not embarrass yourself?
miskamm [114]

Answer:

There are 2 main ways to improve your swimming: reducing drag and increasing propulsion. Focusing on technique during your workouts will help you refine your stroke over time and you'll get faster as a result. To reduce drag, take a look at your body position.

Front Crawl is also known as freestyle, as it is the most used stroke in freestyle events. This is because it is the fastest and most efficient of all the strokes. To perform the front crawl, lie on your tummy in the water.

Weights, a pull buoy, or parachute are all ways to build your strength as you swim. Think of it like running with your arms full of shopping. You're much faster once you've put them down. You can also focus on the speed of your laps.
