Sappho was an ancient Greek poet who contributed to the genre of lyric poetry. In contrast to epic poetry, which was predominant before Sappho's time, Sappho's poetry focused on personal topics such as love and loss. The Sapphic form of lyric poetry, which is named for Sappho, is notable for the feeling of uncertainty that the varying meter suggests.

1- The correct answer is C. In Sappho's poetry there isn't a systematic or at least defined vision of Greek society, it is likely that politics and history have been for Sappho too masculine themes. Her work captures only her vision of the narrow social circle in which she lived, which was limited to her students and her family, and of which she does not describe her lifestyle primarily but her inner experiences. This makes Sappho's work lack of a historical and critical perspective of Greek society. The sensitivity and delicacy of the female world are the protagonists of his poems; mixed feelings with his circle of students, such as jealousy, love, disappointment, joy and rivalry.

2- The correct answer is A. The sapphic stanza is of four verses: three sapphic hendecasyllables and one pentasyllabic: adonant with an accent on the first and fourth syllables.

One example of actions speaking louder than words in A Doll's House is Nora's decision to leave. Almost every time she speaks throughout the play, she is not taken seriously, so to follow through on such a large decision to leave her family -and to actually act on it- is much stronger than to simply talk about it.

An example of words speaking louder than actions is Torvald's constant demeaning of Nora through calling her pet names. In the beginning of the play, Torvald's actions are not all that bad, but he frequently refers to her as his "little skylark" and other names that show that he sees her as naive and does not view her as an equal. He also talks down to her about her spending habits. He may not do things that are terribly wrong, but the way he speaks to Nora reveals his true character.

Write an essay stating your opinion on whether songwriters should be considered poets or not.

Pachacha [2.7K]

Explanation:

Well lots of the songwriters back in the day would usually write poems and convert that into a song. And so if you take out the music of some songs, they would sound like an actual poem.

(this should give you a head start, try looking back at some of the old singers liek snoop dog)

Hitman42 [59]

Answer:

After the fleet arrived at Roanoke, Virginia, the English built a fort and initiated relations with the Aquascogoc tribe, but the natives showed no interest in them.

The English thought that the Aquascogoc had stolen a silver cup from them, so Grenville, their captain, led his troops to burn the natives' village. After that, the British defended the fort against the subsequent attacks of the Aquascogoc people.
