Ray Of Light [21]

Answer:

The recovery from the first world war led to consumerism

Explanation:

While the world was recovering from ¨the war to end all wars¨ Western society  and Western culture went through a radical shift in lifestyle. Due to the economic growth - that ended abruptly in the thirties - and industrial development, consumer demand grew rapidly. At the same time there was a break with tradition and modernism took over followed by the first wave of feminism and the Jazz age. It is not a surprise that after the horrors of the first world war the world was ready - at least the part that could afford it - to embrace anything new and exciting and to obtain consumer goods as a means to obtain happiness.
