One advantage of using dialogue in a narrative essay is to create more interest for the reader. Pure lengths of paragraph to read appears boring for the reader, thus dialogue helps in sustaining this interest and focus of the reader on the essay.

Neural pathways not associated with a child's native language start to disappear by what age? A. 16 months B. 3 years C. 1 year
Allushta [10]

Answer:

B. 3 years

Explanation:

The ideal age to learn second or third language is approximately until the age of 3. From 3 to 8 is the second best moment, because the window of opportunity is still open. The most appropriate route, according to experts, is that language learning in childhood happens during the games. 3 years is the ideal age because it is at this age that the neural pathways not associated with the mother tongue of a child begin to disappear.

The linguistic interaction in which the child participates provides most of the data in this process of cognitive development. As a consequence, the neural structures in the brain that correspond to the concepts that are being learned end up naturally and closely associated with the neural structures that correspond to the forms of the language.

ELEN [110]

I think that absolute phrases are the underlined element in this passage by Charles Dickens.

The following ones can be identified: “… flowing up the river […] city”, “…rolling down the river […]city”. Absolute phrases happen when a noun and a participle (in this case the present participle –ing) function as an independent clause.  In this case, they describe the clause, the manner of the movement of the fog.

Read the excerpt from a New York Times review written about the play entitled A Man's World.
Anna71 [15]

The correct answer is C. It contains the opinion of a person who saw A Man's World. The writer gives his opinion that Rachel Crothers' play A Man's World "will not change conditions". This is the writers opinion and not a fact. It is also the opinion of person who went to see the play as he refers to the plays writer.
