Answer:

To honor life and their ancestors.

Explanation:

This was a very sacred and meaningful practice towards those who were viewed as "god-like" as pharaohs. This was done for the pharaohs and those high in view to god, which was significant for Ancient Egyptians. They had many other advanced and highly intelligent practices for their time.

What concession did Grant make to Lee in his terms of surrender?
Softa [21]
I had to answer the same question and this is what i put
Grant offered the same terms he had before:

In accordance with the substance of my letter to you of the 8th inst., I propose to receive the surrender of the Army of N. Va. on the following terms, to wit: Rolls of all the officers and men to be made in duplicate. One copy to be given to an officer designated by me, the other to be retained by such officer or officers as you may designate. The officers to give their individual paroles not to take up arms against the Government of the United States until properly exchanged, and each company or regimental commander sign a like parole for the men of their commands. The arms, artillery and public property to be parked and stacked, and turned over to the officer appointed by me to receive them. This will not embrace the side-arms of the officers, nor their private horses or baggage. This done, each officer and man will be allowed to return to their homes, not to be disturbed by United States authority so long as they observe their paroles and the laws in force where they may reside
The terms were as generous as Lee could hope for; his men would not be imprisoned or prosecuted for treason. In addition to his terms, Grant also allowed the defeated men to take home their horses and mules to carry out the spring planting and provided Lee with a supply of food rations for his starving army.

The first battlefield of the Cold War was the _________ . While Douglas MacArthur was considered a hero after his amphibious lan
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

The first battlefield of the Cold War was the Korean war . While Douglas MacArthur was considered a hero after his amphibious landing at Inchon , he was later removed from command for criticizing the President . When Chinese forces intervened, UN forces were overwhelmed, and the war eventually ended in a stalemate at the original boundary of the two Koreas.

Explanation:

The cold war was a period of military tension between the United states and the USSR.The cold war was due to the two two nation mutually contesting for the position of world power immediately after the allied victory of World War II. The cold war was characterized by a series of proxy wars in which the two nations battled, using other smaller nations in order to avoid a direct conflict. Th Korean war (1950-53) was the first of these proxy wars, with colonel Douglas MacArthur leading the UN forces to make a surprise amphibious landing at the strategic port of Inchon. The attack was deemed too dangerous but was successful anyways. The colonel was later removed for criticizing the president of the United states. However, the arrival of the Chinese forces overwhelmed the UN forces, and the conflict later settled into a long, bloody stalemate that did not end until a July 1953 armistice.
