1) You can decant the sand from the water, and the water can be filtered to get  cleaner water.

2) You can boil or evaporate the water and the salt will be left behind as a solid.

3) You CANNOT filter salt water, the reason that you can't is because the salt is already dissolved into the water thus making boiling the water so the evaporation will rid the water the only way.

4) Distillation is how you can evaporate the water, leaving the salt behind but also keep the water.

5)

a) FILTRATION is the process of removing or "straining" a solid (the chemical term is  precipitate) from a liquid by the use of filter paper or other porous material.

b) DISTILLATION is the purification of a liquid by heating it to its boiling point, causing  vaporization, and then condensing the vapors into the liquid state and collecting the  liquid. Separation of two or more liquids requires that they have different boiling  temperatures. All boiling temperatures can be reduced by decreasing the pressure  on the liquid.

Hope this helps man and good luck!

The line-item veto challenges the notion of A) senatorial courtesy B) congressional oversight C) federalism D) executive privile
Alex777 [14]

Answer:  E) separation of powers

Explanation:

The Line-item veto is a provision that allows an Executive authority such as a Governor or the President to cancel out parts of a bill enacted by Congress without having to veto the whole thing. Essentially it is a partial veto power that allows them to veto a bill only in part should they please.

Governors in 45 US States have this right but the President of the United States does not.

It is argued that this provision violates the principle of Separation of Powers amongst the Judiciary, the Legislature and the Executive.

This is because the Legislature should have exclusive power to construct the inner texts of a bill and the Executive should not be able to alter this content.
