2y² - 3x² = 6

To put the hyperbola in standard form, divide everything by 6

(2/6)y² - (3/6)x² = 6/6
Standard form:
(1/3)y² - (1/2)x² = 1

hyperbola opens up/down NOT sideways (because its y² -x²).
then the a=√3 and b=√2
(h,k) = (0,0)

Not sure what needs to be done with xy=12

When the figure below is rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise about the origin what would be the new coordinates of point c?
Sedbober [7]
Rotating a figure 90° counterclockwise about the origin results in an ordered pair (x, y) mapping to its image (-y, x).  Thus point C, which is at (3, 5), will map to (-5, 3).

3. x-2y = 12<br>y=3x+ 14 substitution to solve system of equation
OLEGan [10]

Answer:

\displaystyle [-8, -10]

Step-by-step explanation:

12 = x - 2[3x + 14]

12 = x - 6x - 28

12 = −5x - 28

+ 28 + 28

____________

\displaystyle \frac{40}{-5} = \frac{-5x}{-5}

\displaystyle -8 = x[Plug this back into both equations above to get the y-coordinate of −10]; \displaystyle -10 = y

A line passes through the points (–10, –10) and (–5, –10). What is its equation in slope-intercept form?
umka2103 [35]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

(x₁, y₁) = (-10, -10)   & (x₂, y₂) = (-5, -10)

y-intercept = b = -10

There is no change in y- coordinates. So, the line is parallel to x- axis

Slope = 0

Equation: y = b

y = -10
