The expressed powers of congress means that the congress should have the power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts, and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defence and general welfare of the united states; but all duties imposts, and excises shall be uniform throughout the united states.Some examples of expressed powers of Congress include the ability to declare war, the authority to collect taxes, initiate and approve legislation and establish federal courts. Some examples of the express powers of the president include the ability to act as Commander in Chief of United States military forces.
