Answer:

A useful model for enzyme action is the Lock and Key model.

Explanation:

The Lock and Key model or theory was first postulated by <u>Emil Fischer</u> in 1894. It is used to represent the enzyme and its specific substrate. The enzyme (lock) is specifically activated by the substrate (key) through its active site (key hole) to produce a catalyzed reaction. If the keys are too small or too big for the key hole, it will not produce any reaction.

The Double Helix model by Watson and Crick is used to represent the DNA present in an individual. This is made up of <u>two strands of DNA</u> bounded by hydrogen bonds. In between these bonds are nitrogenous bases <u>adenine (A), guanine (G), thymine (T), and cytosine (C).</u>

The Ball and Socket model represents body joints, specifically the hip and the shoulder joints. The shape of the <u>head of the joint is spherical</u> and <u>fits into a cup-like depression of the receiving bone</u>. The <u>range of motion </u>of this joint is usually <u>wide</u> and has <u>one central point</u>.

The Amino Acid Chain model, also known as polypeptides, are linked together by a <u>peptide bond</u>. A peptide bond is produced by hydrolysis. The chain usually <u>starts with the amino group and ends with the carboxyl group</u>.

The genetic code was originally deciphered, in part, by experiments in which synthetic polynucleotides with repeating sequences
Leni [432]

Answer:

Translation is the process in which ribosomes in the cytoplasm or endoplasmic reticulum synthesize proteins. The process starts where the mRNAs (messenger RNA) copies the DNA and sends this message to the ribosome. In the ribosome for each triplet of nucleotide an amino acid is bond to the growing chain of amino acid that will eventually form a protein.

You can look up for the translation for the genetic on the internet. Which tells you which triplet codifies for an specific amino acid.

If the code reads. CGC GCG CGC GCG etc.

The result would be an a peptide/protein containing alternating arginines and alanines, because CGC codifies for Arginine and GCG codifies for alanine.

Identify the four spheres of the carbon cycle
diamong [38]

The biogeochemical cycle in which carbon is exchanged between Earth's terrestrial biosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere, and atmosphere is called the carbon cycle. The global carbon budget is the balance of the fluxes of carbon between these four reservoirs.

Which of the following is not actual whole cell?
DochEvi [55]

Answer:

C. Thrombocytes

Explanation:

Blood is a tissue composed of many cells, which include; red blood cells (erythrocytes), white blood cell (leukocytes), platelets (thrombocytes) etc. Of these three types of cells, thrombocytes also known as Platelets are small fragments of a cell with a disk-shape whose primary function is in blood clotting.

In contrast to erythrocytes, and leukocytes (monocytes, lymphocytes) as mentioned in the question, thrombocytes or platelets are not actual whole cells but rather small portion of a cell.
