Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

What you are trying to do in this question is get rid of the i in the denominator. To do that you must multiply top and bottom by the conjugate of 7 + i

The conjugate is 7 - i

D if correct if you just made a typo. Otherwise there is no answer.

( - 3 + i ) * (7 - i)

=============

(7 + i ) ( 7 - i)

( - 3 + i ) * (7 - i)

=============

49 - i^2

( - 3 + i ) * (7 - i)

=============

49 + 1

( - 3 + i ) * (7 - i)

=============

50

I'll let you work out the numerator. If you get (-2 + i)/5 you are correct.

You have (-3 +i)/(7 + i) so you need to remove the i from the numerator, so you have to multiply by 7-i and you get

(-22 + 4i)/50 which can be simplified to

(-11 + 2i)/25

The table shows the number of apples and the total weight of the apples estimate the weight of 6 apples
attashe74 [19]

Answer:

6 apples will weigh about 1,533 grams

Step-by-step explanation:

Set up an equation:

2

Variable x = weight of 6 apples

2/511 = 6/x

Cross multiply

2 × x = 511 × 6

2x = 3066

Divide both sides by 2

x = 1533

Check your work

2/511 = 6/1533

2 × 1533 = 511 × 6

3066 = 3066
