james and elaine share a box of sweet in the ratio 2:3 what fraction of sweets does james receive and elaine receive
morpeh [17]
The ratio needs to be turned into a fraction. So we write 2:3 as 2/3. Since it can’t be reduced any further the answer is 2/3.

Answer:

It is not a linear function

Step-by-step explanation:

There is a one to one correspondence and this would pass the vertical line test

This is a function

However, the questions asks if it is a linear function, which would mean is it a straight line.

This curves, so it is not a linear function

Help please... I don't understand
olchik [2.2K]
Basically they want you to move the variables around so that it matches the standard form which is Ax+By=C.A,B,and C are just coefficients/constants.
so the original equation is
y=x-4
Minus x from both sides to move x to the left hand side.
-x+y=-4
so thats the final answer

What is the value of (2/3)^-4<br><br> A. -81/16<br><br> B. -16/81<br><br> C. 16/81<br><br> D. 81/16
Alisiya [41]

For this case, we must find the value of the following expression:

(\frac {2} {3}) ^ {- 4}

By properties of powers we have that:

a ^ {- 1} = \frac {1} {a ^ 1} = \frac {1} {a}

Thus, we can rewrite the expression as:

\frac {1} {(\frac {2} {3}) ^ 4} =\\\frac {3 ^ 4} {2 ^ 4} =\\\frac {81} {16}

So, we have to:

(\frac {2} {3}) ^ {- 4} = \frac {81} {16}

Answer:

\frac {81} {16}

Option D
