Griswold V. Connecticut's case of the United state was a milestone case in the history of the United States that was filed to access the exercise of Contraceptives. The case involved the Connecticut “Comstock Law” that forbade the use of any medical article for the prevention of conception. After the final hearing of the case, the Supreme Court of the United States mentioned the law as unconstitutional and stated it as the law violating the right to maternity.

After the Amendment of the law first planned parenthood clinic was opened in Hartford in 1935. The clinic assisted the women who were not having access to any gynecologist, by making them aware of the artificial contraception and other ways to plan their families. After it, several other clinics also opened in the very same year along with the Waterbury clinic that got involved legal dispute of 1939 and was impelled to enforce the anti-contraception Law of 1839.
