10.

y + 4x = 10x - 6

Subtract 10x from both sides and simplify.

y + 4x - 10x = 10x - 10x - 6

y - 6x = -6

Subtract y from both sides and simplify.

y - y - 6x = -6 - y

-6x = -6 - y

Divide both sides by -6 and simplify.

\dfrac{-6x}{-6} = \dfrac{-6 - y}{-6}

x = \dfrac{-1(6 + y)}{-1(6)}

x = \dfrac{y + 6}{6}

12.

4g + r = 2r - 2x

Flip sides to get x on the left side.

2r - 2x = 4g + r

Subtract 2r from both sides and simplify.

2r - 2r - 2x = 4g + r - 2r

-2x = 4g - r

Divide both sides by -2 and simplify.

\dfrac{-2x}{-2} = \dfrac{4g - r}{-2}

x = \dfrac{-4g + r}{2}

x = \dfrac{r - 4g}{2}

Demarco paid $3.19 per gallon both times that he stopped for gas on a weekend trip. He bought 12.53 gallons of gas the first tim
Anon25 [30]
You didn't include the options, so whichever one looks like x=(12.53+11.86)3.19 or something similar. You need to add the amount of gallons he bought, then multiply them by the cost per gallon, which will most likely be set equal to a variable.
