Answer:

Region A is the region represents the graph of the feasible region

for the given constraints

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets look to the graph to answer the question

# y ≥ 2x represented by the orange line

∵ The sign of inequality is greater than, then the shaded part will

   be over the line

∴ The solution is in A region

# x + y ≤ 14 represented by the purple line

∵ The sign of inequality is smaller than, then the shaded part will

   be under the line

∴ The solution is in A or B or C regions

# y ≥ 1 represented by the pink line

∵ The sign of inequality is greater than, then the shaded part will

   be over the line

∴ The solution is in A or B or C regions

# 5x + y ≥ 14 represented by the blue line

∵ The sign of inequality is greater than, then the shaded part will

   be over the line

∴ The solution is in A or B or C regions

# x + y ≥ 9 represented by the green line

∵ The sign of inequality is greater than, then the shaded part will

   be over the line

∴ The solution is in A or B regions

* From all above The common region in the five inequalities is A

∴ Region A is the region represents the graph of the feasible region

  for the given constraints

What relations are functions
Inessa05 [86]

The requirement is that every element in the domain must be connected to one - and one only - element in the codomain.

A classic visualization consists of two sets, filled with dots. Each dot in the domain must be the start of an arrow, pointing to a dot in the codomain.

So, the two things can't can't happen is that you don't have any arrow starting from a point in the domain, i.e. the function is not defined for that element, or that multiple arrows start from the same points.

But as long as an arrow start from each element in the domain, you have a function. It may happen that two different arrow point to the same element in the codomain - that's ok, the relation is still a function, but it's not injective; or it can happen that some points in the codomain aren't pointed by any arrow - you still have a function, except it's not surjective.

The scores on the LSAT are approximately normal with mean of 150.7 and standard deviation of 10.2. (Source: www.lsat.org.) Queen
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

a=150.7 -0.385*10.2=146.773

So the value of height that separates the bottom 35% of data from the top 65% (Or the 35 percentile) is 146.7.

Step-by-step explanation:

1) Previous concepts

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The Z-score is "a numerical measurement used in statistics of a value's relationship to the mean (average) of a group of values, measured in terms of standard deviations from the mean".

2) Solution to the problem

Let X the random variable that represent the  scores on the LSAT of a population, and for this case we know the distribution for X is given by:

X \sim N(150.7,10.2)

Where \mu=150.7 and \sigma=10.2

We want to find a value a, such that we satisfy this condition:

P(X>a)=0.65   (a)

P(X   (b)

Both conditions are equivalent on this case. We can use the z score again in order to find the value a.

As we can see on the figure attached the z value that satisfy the condition with 0.35 of the area on the left and 0.65 of the area on the right it's z=-0.385. On this case P(Z<-0.385)=0.35 and P(Z>-0.385)=0.65

If we use condition (b) from previous we have this:

P(X

P(z

But we know which value of z satisfy the previous equation so then we can do this:

Z=-0.385

And if we solve for a we got

a=150.7 -0.385*10.2=146.773

So the value of height that separates the bottom 35% of data from the top 65% (Or the 35 percentile) is 146.7.

poizon [28]

The weight of each pie will be 6 and 8 pounds respectively if the ratio of the seeds in these piles 3:4

<h3>What is the ratio?</h3>

It is described as the comparison of two quantities to determine how many times one obtains the other. The proportion can be expressed as a fraction or as a sign: between two integers.

We have:

A greedy hamster hoarded 2 piles of sunflower seeds. Yesterday the ratio of the seeds in these piles was 3:4

Let 3x and 4x are the seeds from the smaller and bigger pile.

= 4x + 2  (greedy hamster placed another 2 pounds of seeds in the bigger pile)

= 3x - 1/4 (ate 1/4 pound from the smaller pile)

4x + 2 = 5x

Because the quantities of seeds in those piles is in the ratio of 5:16

After solving:

x = 2

Smaller pile weight = 3x = 3(2) = 6

Bigger pile wieght = 4x = 4(2) = 8

Thus, the weight of each pie will be 6 and 8 pounds respectively if the ratio of the seeds in these piles 3:4
