Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

x = -11, y = 6

Discussion:

I don't understand the answer shown -- "Doesn't Exist" -- especially as part of the problem statement is not displayed,  BUT

-6x + 3y = 84     =>    divide both sides by 3

-2x + y = 84/3= 28

-2x + y = 28          (A)

Multiply X = -23 + 2Y by 2 to get

2x = - 46 + 4y      (B)

Adding (A) and (B) gives

(-2x + y ) + (2x) =  28 + (-46 + 4y) =>

y = 28 -46 + 4y =>                                      as -2x + 2x = 0

y = -18 + 4y =>

18 = 3y =>

y = 6

From (A)    -2x + (6) = 28 or -2x = 28 -6 = 22 so x = -11

Thank you,

MrB

Use the Rational Zeros Theorem to write a list of all possible rational zeros of the function.f(x) = 3x3 + 39x2 + 39x + 27
kramer

First, we can factor this to make it easier to solve:

3(x^3 + 13x^2 + 13x + 9)

Now, we can use the rational root theorem like so:

List factors of 9:

1, 3, 9.

List factors of 1:

1

Because of this, we know our possible rational roots are:

+/-1, +/-3, +/-9

If none of these zeros fit using the remainder theorem, then we know our roots will be irrational.

Barbara, Becky and Beth dressed up as princesses for
MAXImum [283]

Answer:

The answer is Beth.

Step-by-step explanation:

It states "Becky is not Sleeping Beauty and went trick-or-treating with Snow White" so we know that its not Becky. It also states "Beth and Sleeping Beauty are sisters" so we know that Beth is not Sleeping Beauty and we know that Becky is not Sleeping Beauty or Snow White. So it means that Barbara is Sleeping Beauty, Becky is Cinderella and Beth is Snow White.
