40 x 8 = 320 This is how much he made after 40 hours
8 x 1.5 = 12 This is time-and-a-half
2 x 12 = 24 This is how much Willie made for his two extra hours
24 + 320 = $344 This is how much Willie made last week
Willie will be payed for 40 hours at his base rate. At 40 hours, Willie would've made $320. His pay rate for overtime is 1.5, or $12, and he will be payed for 2 hours overtime. For those 2 overtime hours, he made $24. Willie made $344 last week.

<h3>40 \times 8 = 320</h3>

The money he made after 40 hours .

8 \times 1.5 = 12

<h3>This is time and a half .</h3>

<h3>2×12 = 24( This is how much Wille made for his</h3>

<h3> two extra hours )</h3>

24 + 320 = $ 344

<h3>This is how much Wille made last week .</h3>

Wille will be paid for 40 hours at his base rate and at 40 hours he would have made $320 . His \:pay \:rate\: will \:be $ 12 , and he will be paid for 2 hours over time . For those 2 overtime hours he made $24.

<h3>Wille made $344 last week.</h3>

11111nata11111 [884]

The two expressions that represent the retail price of cars is: Retail price = 1.21c and Retail price = c + 0.21c

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that,

Rick buys remote control cars to resell

He applies a markup of 21%

Let "c" be the original price of remote control cars

To find: Expression for retail price of car

We know that,

Retail price = original price + markup

Here, markup price = 21 % of original price

Markup price = 21 % of c

Therefore, substituting the given values we get,

Retail price = c + 21 % of c

\text{ Retail price } = c + 21 \% \times c\\\\\text{ Retail price } = c + \frac{21}{100} \times c\\\\\text{ Retail price } = c + 0.21c\\\\

This can also be expressed as,

\text{ Retail price } = c + 0.21c = 1.21c

Thus two expressions that represent the retail price of cars is: Retail price = 1.21c and Retail price = c + 0.21c

What is the vertical shift for the absolute value function below f(x) =9 |x+1|+2
Rus_ich [418]

Answer:

Slide UP 2

Step-by-step explanation:

In the equation,

f(x) = 9|x+1| + 2

There are three transformations of the parent function f(x)=|x| (this is the simplest form of this function, it's a v-shaped graph)

The 9 in front will vertically stretch the graph and make it look like a "skinny" v-shaped graph.

The +1 in close to the x inside the absolute value bars |x+1| will shift (slide) the graph to the left (it's the opposite of what you might think-- 'plus' shifts the graph left and 'minus' shifts the graph right)

The +2 at the end is the transformation you're looking for. It slides the graph as you would expect UP 2 units. If it was a minus it would shift the graph down instead.
