Through decision making and advising, these are the two ways how the cabinet can influence the President. It is their duty to best advice the president about any situation that is occurring in their particular department or field. The cabinet involves the VP and 15 executive departments of the government.

There are many different things that did change after the north and south fought. one of the things that did change was the abolition of slavery. but during the end of the war, there was a reconstruction period (1865-1877) which changed a lot of white farmers lives. they had to work on cotton farms to now provide for their family (some labor was sugar farms). the common ground now is having african americans now be equal.
