Read this passage from a 1946 speech by Winston Churchill:
Montano1993 [528]

Answer:

B. It demonstrated Western Europeans' growing fears about the spread of communism.

Explanation:

Churchill described the Soviet threat as an "iron curtain." Clearly, he thought it was dangerous and pervasive. This was near the start of the Cold War tensions, so we can be sure that A and D are not correct. At this point, capitalism and communism are rallying their forces for defense or attack. And C doesn't make sense, because Churchill does not reference or imply nuclear power in any context in this quote.

How does Pericles describe Athenian democracy
stiks02 [169]
Pericles described as not a copy of the laws of other states. Instead, "the administration of Athens favors the many instead of the few", hence the name democracy. The laws guarentee equal justice to all. The freedom that is enjoyed in the Athenian government is extended to be equally enjoyed in Athenian ordinary and everyday life. Athenians would not become angry at or express envy towards their neighbors for doing what they please or engage in offensive and/or agressive acts to express their jealousy, but instead all the ease and freedom Athenians are granted under their democracy does not make them act lawless as citizens. Basically, Pericles describes Athenians as happy with life in their city and with the political system of Athens.

what did congress pass to try and stop the violence against african americans and white republicans after the civil war?
Mila [183]
There was a series of laws and amendments passed to give them their rights, and example would be:

The right to vote

The destruction of man being enslaved do to color of skin

Etc.

But of course this stuff kept going until the late 1800`s, but finally died down
