A circle with center at (12,−1) passes through (0,−1). Find the circumference and area of the circle in terms of p.
madreJ [45]

Answer:

C = 75.36

A = 452.16

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the radius r by finding the distance between (12,-1) and (0,-1) using the distance formula.

d = \sqrt{(12-0)^2 + (-1--1)^2} =\sqrt{(12)^2 + (0^2} =\sqrt{144+0} =\sqrt{144}=12

The radius is 12.

So the circumference of the circle is C = 2\pi r = 2\pi 12 = 24\pi = 75.36

So the area of the circle is A = \pi r^2\\A = \pi 12^2\\A = 144\pi\\A = 452.16

Find the distance between the two points in simplest radical form.<br> (7,2) and (-1, -3)
Paul [167]

Answer:

The answer is

<h2>\sqrt{89}  \:  \:  \:  \: units \\</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance between two points can be found by using the formula

d =  \sqrt{ ({x_1 - x_2})^{2} +  ({y_1 - y_2})^{2}  }  \\

where

(x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) are the points

From the question the points are

(7,2) and (-1, -3)

The distance between them is

d =  \sqrt{( {7 + 1})^{2}  +  ({2 + 3})^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{ {8}^{2}  +  {5}^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{64 + 25}  \\  =  \sqrt{89}  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

We have the final answer as

\sqrt{89}  \:  \:  \:  \: units \\

Hope this helps you

Is (5 + 4x^0)2x a monomial? What about (5+ 4x^2)2x?
artcher [175]
Greetings!

A Monomial only contains one term, hence the its spelling: <em>Mono </em>meaning one.

Therefore, none of the example you gave are monomials.
They are examples of trinomials. (three terms)

Hope this helps.
