Answer:

<h2>20</h2>

Option D is the correct option.

Step-by-step explanation:

As they are similar, correspondence sides are in common ratios:

\frac{x}{10}  =  \frac{10}{5}

Apply cross product property

5x = 10 \times 10

Multiply the numbers

5x = 100

Divide both sides of the equation by 5

\frac{5x}{5}  =  \frac{100}{5}

Calculate

x = 20

Hope this helps...

Best regards!!

Answer: 8.3 feet

We know the area of 1 tile is:

1tile=1ft^{2}    (1)

We also know Jack used 103.75 tiles to cover the whole bathroom floor, which is a rectangle.

Remembering (1), we have that:

103.75tiles=103.75ft^{2}    (2)

Which is also the area of the rectangle from which we only have the value of one of its sides, the width w:

w=12.5ft    (3)

In addition, the area A of a rectangle is given by the following equation:

A=w.l    (4)

Where l is the length.

Substituting the value of the width written in (3) and the area (2) in equation (4):

103.75ft^{2}=(12.5ft)l    (5)

We finally have the value of the length of the bathroom floor:

l=8.3ft

Garden one has 9 more bushes of red currant than garden two. If 3 bushes were transplanted from garden two to garden one, then g
Vesnalui [34]

Garden one and two are both unknown, so I am choosing to call garden 2 X and then label garden 1 with comparisons to X.

It is tempting to list:

Garden Two = X

Garden One = X + 9

BUT there is an easier way. We are told that when 3 bushes are taken from garden 2 (x-3) and put in garden 1 (x + 12) then garden one has 1.5 times more than garden two.

Set it up like this:

1.5 ( x - 3) = x + 12 (because 1.5 times garden 2 will give us garden 1)

1.5x - 4.5 = x + 12 (Distribute)

.5x = 16.5 (Use subtraction to move variables to the right and other numb left)

x = 33 for Garden 2

33  + 9 for Garden 1 = 42
