Athens form of democracy is one of the finest gifts given to the world by the Greeks. About a hundred years ago, the Athens had a direct form of democracy and after that a lot of countries in the world have taken up this idea from the Greeks and applied it in their own countries.

Ancient Athens had a direct democracy, or a government in which all citizens of the country would vote on rules and laws made to govern the country. This gave the people of the country a lot of power in their hands and the right to make their own rules and laws according to whatever suited them.
