Any two points on the circumference of the circle are the same distance from the center of the circle.

Answer:

Any two points on the circumference are the same distance from the center

Step-by-step explanation:

Not every circle has the same diameter, so each circle does <em>not</em> have only one diameter.

The definition of a radius is half of the diameter, so it's impossible for it to be longer.

Chords can be anywhere except through the center, so they can be any length less than the diameter.

What is true about ABC? Check all that apply.
Ira Lisetskai [31]

In the given triangle , Coordinates of A (-1,3) , B (-5,-1), C (3,-1).

Let's find the slope of AB and AC .

Formula of slope is

m = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1} }{x_{2} - x_{1}}

For AB, slope is,

m = \frac{-1-3}{-5+1} = \frac{-4}{-4} =1

And slope of AC is

\frac{-1-3}{3+1} = \frac{-4}{4} = -1

Product of the slopes of AB and AC is

= 1* (-1) =-1

Since the product of the two slopes is -1, so AB and AC are perpendicular.

And if they are perpendicular, angle BAC is 90 degree, so the triangle is right triangle .

Now we check the length of the sides of the triangle, and for that we use distance formula , which is

d = \sqrt{ (x_{2} - x_{1} )^2 + (y_{2} - y_{1} )^2}

So for AB,

AB = \sqrt{ (-3-1)^2 + (-5+1)^2} = \sqrt{32} = 4 \sqrt 2

For AC,

AC = \sqrt{ (-1-3)^2 + (3+1)^2 } =\sqrt{32} = 4 \sqrt 2

For BC,

\sqrt{(-1+1)^2 + (3+5)^2 } = 8

And since two sides are equal, so the triangle is isosceles triangle .

The lengths of two sides of a triangle are 4 cm 4 cm and 20 cm . 20 cm. Identify the correct pair of measures between which the
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

I think what you meant to say is "If a triangle has 2 sides that are 4 cm and 20 cm, what are the possible lengths of the third side?"

Basically, when given 2 sides of a triangle, the third side must be GREATER  than the DIFFERENCE of the other 2 sides and LESS than the SUM of the other 2 sides.

difference = 16 cm

sum = 24 cm

So, the third side must be greater than 16 cm and less than 24 cm

Solve this problem and show all the step involved.If ad=12and ac=ay_36, find the value of y.Then find ac and DC
pochemuha

Answer:

y = 15

AC = 24

DC = 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

AD = 12

AC = 4y - 36

See attachment

Solving for y

From the attachment:

AD = DC

and

AC = AD + DC

Substitute DC for AD

AC = AD + AD

AC = 2AD

Substitute values for AD and AC

4y - 36= 2*12

4y - 36= 24

Collect Like Terms

4y = 36+ 24

4y = 60

Solve for y

y = 60/4

y = 15

AC = 4y - 36

AC = 4 * 15 - 36

AC = 24

AD = DC

DC = AD

DC = 12

If a math problem asks you about how much something is for division , will the problem make you estimate?
postnew [5]

Answer:

Yes

I hope this answers your question!

Step-by-step explanation:

How do you estimate a division problem?

You can use multiplication to check your division answer this way.

1) Do the division problem.

2) Multiply the quotient times the divisor.

3) If there is a remainder, add it to the multiplication product.

4) Compare this answer to the dividend. They should be the same number (630 = 630).
