1) The Byzantine Empire had kept Greek and Roman culture alive for nearly a thousand years after the fall of the Roman Empire in the west. It had preserved this cultural heritage until it was taken up in the west during the Renaissance.
2) Many aspects of Roman culture were borrowed from the Greeks. Like thinking of themselves as Gods and so forth
3) Most customs and traditions in Greece and the Greek Islands are of a religious nature, but some stem from paganism. Easter is by far the most important celebration for the Greeks, even Christmas comes second.
Byzantine leaders kept Roman law and traditions. Artists restored Hellenistic art and literature. As the West started to diminish, scholars in the East maintained preserved libraries and created schools designed to teach ancient Greek and Roman history.

The Federalists <u><em>favored</em></u> a strong central government and close relations with Great Britain. The Democratic-Republicans favored decentralization to the state governments, and the party attacked the taxes imposed by the Federalists.
Religion in Ancient Egypt was not created for the reason of making a pharaoh look to the eyes of those as a god. But, religion did make the people think the pharaoh was a god.
