The Philadelphia Convention, which was held from May 25 to September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was convened to revise the Articles of Confederation. Despite the fact that the Convention was originally conceived only to amend and clarify existing laws, during the discussions, the participants of the Convention proceeded to create a new document - the US Constitution, which was ultimately signed as the basic law of the new state.
