Simple, rewrite this equation, in y=mx+b form.

Move over the 5x, making it look like, -y=-5x+14

Then, just simply divide by the negative one in front of the y.

y=5x-14.

The formula for intercept form is: y = mx + b and the slope is m.
so for this question, you can first add -5x on both sides of the equation so you will have:
-y = -5x + 14 but y should be positive so we can multiply both sides of the equation by -1 so you will have:
y = 5x - 14 and in this equation m is 5 so the slope is 5 too :)))
i hope this is helpful

Nata [24]

Answer:

(a) 0

(b) -3/26

Step-by-step explanation:

(a)

We essentially plug 1 in for x and 2 in for y.

Our expression is \frac{2x-y}{y^2+1}, so making the correct substitutions yields:

\frac{2x-y}{y^2+1}=\frac{2*1-2}{2^2+1}=\frac{2-2}{4+1} =\frac{0}{5} =0

So, the answer for part (a) is 0.

(b)

Again, we're now plugging in 1 for x and 5 for y:

\frac{2x-y}{y^2+1}=\frac{2*1-5}{5^2+1}=\frac{2-5}{25+1} =\frac{-3}{26} =-\frac{3}{26}

So, the answer for part (b) is -3/26.
