The lens focuses light through the vitreous humor, a clear gel-like substance that fills the back of the eye and supports the retina. The retina receives the image that the cornea focuses through theeye's internal lens and transforms this image into electrical impulses that are carried by theoptic nerve to the brain.

Why does amylase from saliva stop working in the stomach? what other organ produces amylase?
Novosadov [1.4K]
Amylase is an enzyme, which are protein molecules that help in the breakdown of complex substances. Enzymes have optimum conditions in which they operate, which also include specific pH ranges. The pH in the stomach is too low for amylase to work in, so amylase is denatured and does not perform its function in the stomach.

The other organ producing amylase is the pancreas.
